Delhi Coronavirus Cases: Amid rising cases of Kovid-19, 15 people related to Corona virus have died in the national capital Delhi in the last 12 days. Information has been received from government statistics. According to the data shared by the Delhi Health Department, in one of these 15 deaths, Kovid was the primary cause. While in the rest of the cases, Kovid was ‘concomitant’, that is, apart from other diseases, they also got corona infection.

It has been said in the statistics that between March 30 and April 10, a total of 15 people died, out of which four patients died on April 9. According to official data, more than 5,500 cases of Kovid-19 were reported in the last two weeks, while the number of patients under treatment has increased by 150 percent in the same period. At the same time, amidst the increase in the cases of Kovid-19 in the national capital, a rehearsal was done on Tuesday to take stock of the preparedness of various hospitals in Delhi.

Mock drill on COVID-19 cases

On Sunday (April 9), 699 new cases of corona virus infection were reported in Delhi, while four people died. On the other hand, 484 cases of Kovid-19 came on Monday and three people died during this period. The rate of infection in Delhi was 26.58 percent on Monday. Tuesday’s rehearsal in Delhi was part of a nationwide exercise to take stock of the preparedness of hospitals to deal with the surge in COVID-19 cases. The authorities had already announced that public and private health facilities are expected to participate in the exercise to be held on April 10 and 11.

Health Minister reviewed the preparations

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya visited Delhi’s Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital on Monday to take stock of the preparedness to combat COVID-19. This exercise was done on Tuesday in hospitals run by the Delhi government. Suresh Kumar, Medical Director of Delhi’s Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital said that in the city corona virus More cases of infection are coming up but there is no need to panic. Suresh Kumar said, ‘Only 10 patients have been admitted to our hospital, while 440 beds earmarked for Kovid-19 patients are vacant. The purpose of this rehearsal is to find out our preparedness in terms of availability of essential medicines, medical equipment and manpower.

‘No need to panic’

Regarding the recent deaths related to Kovid-19, Suresh Kumar said that only people who had serious diseases like tuberculosis, cancer, chronic lung disease etc. became victims of infection. A senior doctor of Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital told ‘PTI-Bhasha’ that the hospital has a total of 325 beds and as per the instructions issued by Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal recently, a room for isolation along with beds has also been made. Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bhardwaj said on Monday that the report of the March 26 rehearsal has been handed over to the Chief Minister and other officials. Medical director of Lok Nayak Jai Prakash Narayan (LNJP) Hospital Suresh Kumar told that more cases will come up in the coming days, but there is no need to panic.
